My Story

I have been a teacher for 12 years, and have always been passionate about supporting children not only with their education, but developing the 'whole child.' I have always been passionate about therapeutic play and the benefits it provides for children.

I have worked in some of the most challenging schools in the country and worked with primary school children from different backgrounds, with a range of different diagnoses and each with their own individuality and challenges. I trained as Montessori teacher, in addition to my Bachelor's degree in Teaching, and I developed my own philosophy regarding education. As a teacher, I learnt to 'follow the child' and allow them the opportunities to grow and flourish.

When I was working in Manchester, I discovered Play Therapy which is so much more than 'just playtime' - based in neuroscience, therapeutic play and play therapy allow children to communicate in their own natural language, encouraged by a holistic toolkit used by the therapist.

I use a range of different tools during sessions, including toys, art, clay, sand, musical instruments and creative visualization.

Play Therapy was what my practice was missing as it provided me with the skills to support a child's well-being in their own natural way - through play.

I began my PTUK & APAC accredited qualification in 2019, I completed the Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills, and then continued to complete the diploma in Play Therapy. I have worked as a Play Therapist in schools, providing therapeutic interventions for the most vulnerable and challenging of children, as well as those who just need a little bit of support in life, for example children with low confidence or with social anxiety.

I work with both individuals and groups. I am accepting referrals for new clients - this process will require some information from the referrer, but I can help you every step of the way.

If you feel that your child could benefit from therapeutic play, or you are unsure, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
